About the Program
Join AFP as we continue the conversation around community centered fundraising. During the first session we covered the 10 Principles of Community Centric Fundraising. During Part 2, we will discuss community centered fundraising in practice, and share helpful resources for you and your organizations to implement this work. Couldn’t attend Part 1? No problem – if you register for this event we can send you the PowerPoint so that you can get up to speed before Part 2.
Are traditional fundraising models not working for your organization? Decades of donor-centric fundraising perpetuates inequity and weakens effectiveness. As the world changes, is this model still relevant? Is it time for radical collaborations and innovative solutions? Community-centric models challenge us to focus on the community as the most important element of our work. Community-Centric Fundraising, a model that is grounded in equity and social justice, prioritizes the entire community over individual organizations, fosters a sense of belonging and interdependence, presents our work not as individual transactions but holistically, and encourages mutual support between nonprofits. Join us as we discuss what community-centric fundraising is, why it works, how to shift into this work, and why it is needed now more than ever.
